TEETH CHIARA
Creature Design — 2026
THE WOODLAND BITE

Context
Teeth Chiara is a custom wearable creature piece developed to alter the expression and silhouette of the mouth. Rather than imitating natural human teeth, the design embraces distortion: uneven forms, dark grooves, organic coloration, and prominent side tusks create a character that feels as though it has emerged from an old forest myth.
Creative intention
The visual direction draws from splintered wood, roots, bark, and fantasy creatures. Each tooth was shaped as an individual organic form, while the extended tusks establish a strong horizontal profile. Warm brown tones, blackened recesses, and subtle highlights enhance the carved-wood appearance and reveal the sculptural details under light.

Project narrative
A handcrafted set of character teeth created for Chiara, combining dark fantasy, woodland textures, and an exaggerated creature silhouette. Sculpted with irregular, wood-like teeth and outward-facing tusks, the piece transforms the wearer’s smile into something ancient, feral, and strangely playful.
Process
The piece was developed directly on a dental cast to control its fit, proportions, and relationship with the lips. The forms were sculpted by hand, refined into an irregular rhythm, then painted in layered tones to build depth and texture. The final fitting confirmed that the design retained its visual impact while remaining integrated with the wearer’s face.
